Just Chatting

Here is what two successful, professional, women in the corporate world discuss during their day. Not all the time, just today.

me: Stephanie, why can't it just be ten years from now
and we could be chatting about how cute our kids are?
For real....
Stephanie: Seriously, I can't wait for that day
me: ha! and we aren't even crazy chicks** that only want to have babies
Stephanie: I know, I'm just so sick of all the dating crap. I want to move on to new problems like my husband never helps out around the house
me: amen! can I please quote that on my blog?

She said I could. Steph, I'm sure our husbands will be so amazing they WILL help out around the house. We will hear things like "You are beautiful" and "I love you so much" on a daily basis. They will kiss us "goodbye" and "hello" and won't ever let us doubt ourselves.

Don't worry, we can chat about it in ten years. I really hope it is sooner than that though...I'm just sayin'.....

**By the way, I actually don't think that women who have children and stay home are crazy. They are the people I admire the most. I'm talking about the girls who think they are old maids and worthless people if they aren't married at 19 and pregnant by 20. I think they are crazy. Just wanted to clarify.

Well, I think we could all temporarily teleport ourselves to NYC for you...would that work?

Love it! As my mom tells me, marriage is not the end of your problems....well, right now I'll trade those problems for my current problems. I always thought I wanted a big career. Turns out I was wrong.

Can you guys invite me to the conversation next time you have it? Either next week or in ten years... whichever.

Speaking of professional women, this is going to sound like I'm a mind stalker, but I promise I'm not. I was wandering around Chicago last week, riding the subway, etc., and I kept thinking, "It would be so fun if Maria were here!" I blame the fact that I think of you wandering around a similarly big city, and that one more person would have reduced the travel tension. Perhaps one day we can meet up in a big city of some sort. Maybe SLC.
