Worth every penny

Last night was a big deal.... I saw Liza Minelli perform at the Palace theater. The same theater her mother played in the 50s and 60s. She was uh-mazing!!! Some quick points regarding the evening:

1) I was the youngest person there - guaranteed
2) I've never seen so many fabulous drag queens in all my life. They really looked great- I'm not even kidding.
3) I've never seen so many grown adults giddy and jumping in place while waiting in the lobby.
4) Screams of excitment and tears of joy lasted for several minutes the moment we caught a glimpse of her starting pose - back to the audience, one arm on her hip, the other shot straight above her tilted head, her long, spotlight created shadow reaching to the rafters.
5) Liza likes sparkly sequence...a lot...
6) Her voicing is truly amazing live- we just don't have singers like that anymore.
7) She is crazy in the best way possible.
8) She rocked a black mini dress and knee high boots like nobody's business.
9) She had the most touching stories to tell about her mother and her god mother. She dedicated the second act to her godmother - Kay Thompson ( musical arranger for MGM back in the day).
10) She made me cry when she sang "New York, New York". That song really gets to me now.

Wow, that REALLY made me want to see it. How long is it running?
I understand completely your thoughts on New York, New York. The feeling it brings inside me is indescribable.

Sounds like fun! My first exposure to Liza Minelli was when she starred as the princess in Fairy Tale Theatre's Princess and the Pea. Weird I know.

New York New York gets to me too, and I've never even lived here, so I can only imagine what it means to you now.

Hope to see you soon! Like tomorrow or something.

Yeah, how does Liza keep her legs looking so great...Her mom had fantastic legs as well, so I guess it must be in the genes. :)
