"You look like a rabbit"

I had a bunch of pictures I took over the weekend, but I think my camera freaked out or I probably jacked something up because my pictures are lost. So, Ill just have to describe my weekend.

Friday - I went and saw the new Dr. Jones movie. It was aight, I guess. The moment I gave up on the movie was when Shia was swinging through the jungle with the monkeys. It was a ridiculous idea and it looked totally lame.

Saturday - I met up with a co-worker and saw Legally Blonde the musical. It actually isn't as awful as you are probably thinking right now. I hadn't heard any music from the show before, but there were some pretty catchy tunes.
After the show, we headed to Brooklyn to check out Cog & Pearl. The store had a lot of cute stuff so I had to restrain myself. I had some serious bag shopping to take care of at Brooklyn Industries, where I purchased this Mary Poppins bag . The bag in the link isn't the same pattern or colors I purchased, but it is the same huge size, which I love because I have to carry everything around with me. At one point I had a shopping bag, a pair of shoes, a jacket, a couple bottles of water and all my normal purse essentials in there with room to spare. Also, I think I should get a discount to Brooklyn Industries, because about five people complimented me on my bag while I was roaming the city and I told them exactly where to find it for themselves.

Sunday- I spoke in church. It went pretty well. After church I walked down the street from my apartment to Battery Park and people watched for a bit. It was a lovely day and it was great to be by the water.

Monday- I ran the Brooklyn Bridge even though there were way too many people there. It was HOT when I was running, but I need the sun. I must say, running the bridge is quite enjoyable. You are able to see the city in a whole different way, and as I mentioned before, I love being near the water.

I had lunch at Bloomingdale's. There is a restaurant on the 7th floor - 40 carrots. It is a yummy little cafe and they have great frozen yogurt. I prefer the chocolate over original, but I am in the minority. I've noticed that people around here are all about the frozen yogurt. I think I'll stick to ice cream, thanks. After lunch, I made a stop at Victoria's Secret. It was a very enlightening experience to say the least. Those Victoria's Secret girls are not bashful, let me tell you what. I was kinda scolded by my helper, but she hooked me up and now all is well with the world. After VS, I roamed some of the little shops on the upper east side. I've decided life is better on the upper east side- just in general. HA!

But, one ( or two) of the reasons I could not live there ( there are many), and the reason for the title of this post was this:

Oh- how I wish I still had my pictures if only for this reason.

Imagine ....

One petite white lady wearing a white tennis skirt with a baby pink polo shirt - collar popped.
Her companion: tall white man wearing white manpris with a baby blue polo shirt - popped collar. Priceless. I was totally shameless and took their picture. I couldn't help myself. It was too perfect. They even had matching blonde highlights. Basically made my day.

Sorry if you don't get the reference from SNL- trust me, its funny.

Hard core

I just found out that I was able to get the last spot in a Pilates class tonight! The studio seems really nice, and my roommates love the classes there, so I'm excited. I've only done Pilates at my house, with miss Windsor, so it will be interesting to see how an actual class works. I'll be going with my roommate Jaclyn ( a.k.a Jac or Miss J or The Bom .com).

The main reason I post this is because I feel it necessary to publicly announce my dedication to getting in better shape. I'm not going to do anything crazy like post pictures or anything, but I will try to post some of my milestones. I have already lost a clothing size ( almost 2!) since moving to the city and walking my buns all over the place. I still have a ways to go, but I am noticing the difference of my energy level, how my clothes fit ( and don't fit), and how I feel about my body overall. I have a little goal for myself and the deadline is August 1st. I'm too much of a wuss to tell you what the goal is, but I will talk about it again when August rolls around. I probably should tell you so that I can be held more accountable, but too bad!

By the way, if my Pilates plans get interrupted by work - I swear I'm throwing my blackberry in the Hudson. I'm not kidding.
