Cry it out, Lolo.....

"I felt the gold around me,but if you can't finish the race, you don't deserve to be the champion."

This broke my heart. Lolo was so gracious and calm during her post race interview(you know the interviews they demand on having even when the runners can't breathe)when she was asked what she was feeling during her race and the moment when she clipped a hurdle, ultimately losing a medal placement. I felt awful for her, but that wasn't the saddest part to me. The saddest part was when the cameras found her under the stadium, up against a wall, bawling. Shoulders shaking, ugly cry...bawling. I yelled at the tv " Just leave her alone!!". I hated that the cameras hunted her down during such a hard time and showed the moment she was most vunerable. I wanted to give her a big hug and cry with her.

Congrats to the actual medalists- whoever you are- I don't recall your names. I'm saying congratualations because that is what Lolo would do- even when all she wanted to do was run under the stadium to cry.

Die, Vampires, Die!

I saw this new musical on Tuesday night. I needed something to look forward to that day, and I got an email letting me know tickets were on sale for the show. I immediately bought one and went to the show alone. There was some potty mouth, but overall I loved this show. It was really funny, but very sweet at the same time. I'm kind of glad I went alone because tears came a couple times, and that may have been embarrassing, but I just told you guys, so, oh well. I actually wasn't really alone with my emotions though- Gary, the very* gay guy next to me was right there with me. During the single really touching song, he grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze when we both caught each other with tears welling up.
If you are interested in learning more about the show go here: http://www.titleofshow.com/
There is a short video featuring the four cast members- it is a pretty good example of the pace an humor of the show.
* By the way, Gary described himself as very gay. "Hi honey, I'm Gary- looks like we will be cozy friends this evening ( referring to the very tight spaces in the old Broadway theatres )." After a couple seconds... " I am very gay, so I hope you don't mind- do you like the gays??"
"I love the gays, Gary" - I said with a laugh. I'm glad he was my cozy friend Tuesday night.
The title of this post is the name of one of my favorite songs in the show.

Netflix assistance

Hey family, friends, and blog stalkers,

I need your help. My Netflix queue is running very low and I would like some suggestions. Please comment on what you think I should add to my list and I will do so. Maybe a little description as to why you think it is a good movie would be great.

THANKS!
